Our Clients

Through the years, Richard Mays Law Firm PLLC has established a niche practice representing individuals, citizens groups and environmental organizations. We frequently handle matters regarding private and public works projects that have potential to harm the environment of Arkansas, and litigate against corporations that fail to keep their legal and contractual commitments to individuals or communities.

With the consequences of global climate change becoming manifest through the increased flooding and increasing temperatures, we also work with levee districts and landowners in planning for flood prevention, financing of levees and making claims for damages from flooding.

Our Founder

Founder Richard Mays served at Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Headquarters in Washington, D.C. as a career staff attorney, Senior Enforcement Counsel (i.e., deputy assistant administrator) and acting assistant administrator of the Office of Enforcement during most of the 1980s.

Prior to joining EPA, he served as an attorney for what is now the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality. His law practice has had a substantial environmental component for more than 40 years. As a result of that experience, Richard knows full well the importance of working with governmental agencies when possible but challenging them when they overreach.
